July 27th, 2013 - After a week away from the track the 2013 World of Outlaws (WoO) Super Late Model tour resumed for Eric Wells over the weekend with a trip to 1the legendary Fairbury American Legion Speedway (Fairbury, Illinois) for the $20,000-to-win, 24th Annual Prairie Dirt Classic.

A strong field of 52 Super Late Models converged on the 1/4 mile oval, and Wells started his weekend by qualifying 8th fastest in his group to earn the 3rd starting spot in his heat race on Friday night. Unfortunately he would slide backwards to a 5th place in his heat race, and with only the top three cars transferring to the feature he was relegated to a b-main on Saturday night. In the b-main he again found himself short of earning a transfer spot to the feature, so he was forced to utilize a series' provisional to start the main event in the 27th position. He would go on to advance ten spots to a 17th place finish in the 100 lap affair.

Wells is sixth in the latest series standings. Full results from the events and complete series' standings are available at www.WoOLMS.com.

1July 12th, 2013 - The Wild West Tour for the World of Outlaws (WoO) Super Late Models opened on Friday night at Amsoil Speedway (Superior, Wisconsin) with a $10,000-to-win, 50 lap event. Twenty-seven entries took to the clay oval, and after qualifying tenth fastest in time trials Eric slipped to a seventh place finish in his heat race, which sent him to the b-main, which he won. Via his b-main win Wells started 19th on the grid for the finale. Despite track conditions that weren't favorable for passing Eric advanced nine spots to finish 10th at the checkered flag. He received Hard Charger and Rookie of the Race honors for his performance.

Eric made his debut at Deer Creek Speedway (Spring Valley, Minnesota) on Saturday evening in the annual Gopher 50 at the 3/8 mile oval. Thirty-three Super Late Models entered the $10,000-to-win event, and a third to second run in his heat race resulted in Wells earning a spot in the redraw for the feature. Eric would receive the 6th spot in the redraw and would go on to race his way forward to a 4th place finish behind race winner, Darrell Lanigan, Josh Richards, and Chris Simpson. He once again received Rookie of the Race honors for his finish.

After a rainout on Monday night at Black Hills Speedway (Rapid City, South Dakota) the team traveled to Gillette Thunder Speedway (Gillette, Wyoming) on Tuesday evening for another $10,000-to-win program. With 33 Super Late Models entered Eric finished 3rd in his heat race, which locked him into the 11th starting spot for the 50 lap finale. In the feature he mounted a solid charge to a 5th place finish behind race winner, Rick Eckert, Darrell Lanigan, Clint Smith, and Jimmy Mars. For the third straight event he claimed Rookie of the Race honors.

It was another first for Eric on Thursday night as he entered his first-ever event at Red River Co-op Speedway (Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada) in a $10,000-to-win event that drew a field of 26 cars. The night started on a strong note for Wells, who qualified 2nd fastest in the field before racing to the win in his heat race, which sent him to the redraw for the feature. In the redraw he received the pole position for the 50 lap finale. Unfortunately he would battle the handle on his #18 entry in the feature as he slipped to an 11th place finish. He did receive Rookie of the Race honors again for being the highest finishing rookie contender.

Friday night's finale for the Wild West Tour fell victim to rain on Friday night at River Cities Speedway (Grand Forks, North Dakota).
