1August 28th, 2016 - Returning with the World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series, Eric Wells traveled to Merritt Speedway (Lake City, Michigan) on Friday night for the two-day Keyser’s Great Lakes Shootout. In a field of 40 Super Late Models, Wells followed up the quickest time in his group of 20 cars with a 3rd place outing in his heat race. Starting in 11th for the $6,000-to-win A-Main, Eric fell one spot registering a 12th place finish.

With the weather postponing Saturday night’s event to Sunday afternoon, Eric was one of 39 cars signed in for the $10,000 top prize. Grabbing the last transfer spot in his heat with a 4th place finish, Wells rolled off 14th for the main event. Breaking into the Top 10, Eric Wells gained six positions in the 50-lap A-Main posting a 8th place finish.

1August 14th, 2016 - Making the trip to the east-coast, Eric Wells visited Delaware International Raceway (Delmar, Delaware) on Thursday night for the World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series event. Drawing 37 Super Late Models for the Fulton Bank 50, Eric logged a 4th place finish in his heat race giving him the 13th-starting spot for the $10,000-to-win A-Main. Dropping two positions in the 50-lapper, Wells registered a 15th place outing.

Friday night brought 39 cars to Potomac Speedway (Budds Creek, Maryland) for the WoO sanctioned Gunter’s Honey 50. After laying down the 2nd fastest time overall, Wells stormed to heat race victory earning him the 8th-starting position for the main event. With $10,000 on the line, Eric fell three spots in the 50-lapper affair recording an 11th place finish.

Winchester Speedway (Winchester, Virginia) was the next stop for the WoO series as 33 Super Late Models signed in on Saturday night looking to capture the $10,000 payday. Coming short of a transfer position in his heat with a 5th place outing, Wells cruised to a 10-lap consolation win putting him 20th on the starting grid for the feature. Moving up three spots in the A-Main, Eric logged a 17th place outing.

1On Sunday night the four-day World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series stint wrapped up at Eriez Speedway (Erie, Pennsylvania) for another $10,000-to-win A-Main. 1August 6th, 2016 - Following the World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series, Eric Wells traveled to Shawano Speedway (Shawano, Wisconsin) on Tuesday night for the Sundrop Shootout. Laying down the 9th fastest time in a field of 24 cars, Wells recorded a 3rd place finish in his heat giving him the 9th-starting position for the $10,000-to-win feature. Dropping out the top ten, Eric logged a 14th place outing in the 50-lap A-Main.

After having Wednesday off, the World of Outlaws picked back up on Thursday at Cedar Lake Speedway (New Richmond, Wisconsin) for the opening night of the three-day USA Nationals. Timing in 4th quickest in his 25-car group, Eric went on to place 2nd in his heat behind Jonathan Davenport earning him the 7th-starting spot for the feature. After getting caught up in a multi-car pile-up on lap 19, Wells fell back to a 19th place finish.

1Starting the night off on Friday by laying down the fastest time in a field of 49 Super Late Models, Eric soared to a heat race win securing his spot into the USA Nationals 100 on Saturday night. Advancing into the 6-lap Pole Dash, Wells posted a 5th place finish giving him the 5th-starting spot for the main event. Battling in the Top 5 for the entire 100-lap affair, Eric Wells notched a 3rd place finish behind Josh Richards and Jonathan Davenport with Bobby Pierce and Brian Shirley rounding out the Top 5.
