1October 29th, 2016 - Competing in the World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series season finale, Eric Wells traveled to the Dirt Track at Charlotte (Concord, North Carolina) on Friday night for the two-day Bad Boy Off Road World Finals. Drawing 69 Super Late Models, Wells fell one position short of a transfer spot into the feature in his heat with a 4th place finish. Transferring into the B-Main for another shot the $12,000-to-win opening night A-Main, Eric stormed to a 10-lap consolation victory locking his spot into the show. Rolling off 19th, Eric Wells advanced through the field nine positions in the 50-lap affair registering a 10th place finish.

1On Saturday night starting from the 3rd-position in his heat race, Wells secured his spot into the main event with a runner-up finish behind Steve Casebolt. With another $12,000 payday on the line, Eric jumped up five spots notching a 4th place finish behind Chris Madden, Tim McCreadie, and Don O’Neal with Brandon Overton coming in 5th. 1October 22nd, 2016 - Closing out the season at Florence Speedway (Union, Kentucky), Eric Wells made the trip on Saturday night for the $5,000-to-win Fall 50. In a field of 38 cars, Wells logged a 4th place finish in his heat giving him the 10th-starting position for the A-Main. Breaking into a podium spot, Eric advanced seven positions in the 50-lapper posting a 3rd place finish behind Bobby Pierce and Dustin Linville with Michael Chilton and Jackie Boggs rounding out the Top 5. 1October 15th, 2016 - Returning with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS), Eric Wells traveled to Portsmouth Raceway Park (Portsmouth, Ohio) on Friday night for the 36th Annual Rhino Ag Dirt Track World Championship presented by Optima Batteries. With 79 Super Late Models signed in for two rounds of heat races, Wells placed 4th in his first heat then landed a 3rd place spot in his second heat. Transferring into the B-Main for one last shot at the A-Main on Saturday evening, Eric wheeled his way to a consolation win locking his spot into the main event. 1October 8th, 2016 - Behind the wheel of the Penske Racing Shocks #18 Super Late Model, Eric Wells visited Pittsburgh Pa. Motor Speedway (Imperial, Pennsylvania) on Friday for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) sanctioned Pittsburgher 100. With 46 Super Late Models signed in, two rounds of hot laps were completed on Friday when the rain moved in rescheduled the two-day program to just Saturday. Transferring the Top 4 out of the heats, Wells logged a 6th place outing giving him one last shot at the $20,000-to-win A-Main with a B-Main appearance. Needing a 3rd place finish or better, Eric edged his way into the main event with a 3rd place spot. Moving up 11 positions in the 100-lap affair, Eric Wells posted a 11th place outing.

1October 1st, 2016 - On Saturday night Eric Wells made the trip to 201 Speedway (Sikta, Kentucky) competing in the Ironman Mountain Championship sanctioned Halloween 30. Coming from the 3rd-starting position in the feature, Wells charged to his first win of the season over Eddie Carrier Jr., Brandon Fouts, Steve Lucas, and Stephen Breeding. Eric pocketed a $3,000 payday for his victory in the Ironman Mountain Championship season finale.
