1August 26th, 2017 - On Saturday night Eric Wells followed the World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series to Merritt Speedway (Merritt, Michigan) for the two-day Keyser’s Great Lakes Shootout. After issues in hot-laps forced him to miss out on qualifying, Wells improved five positions in his secondary car to place 4th in his heat race. Losing two positions in the opening night feature, Eric slipped back to a 15th place outing.

The following night Eric locked his spot into the $15,000-to-win finale with a 5th place finish in his heat race. Holding his spot in the 75-lap affair, Wells logged a 14th place finish.

1August 20th, 2017 - Eric Wells returned with the World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series on Thursday night for the Fulton Bank 40 at Georgetown Speedway (Georgetown, Delaware). After posting the fourth fastest time in qualifying, Wells landed a runner-up finish behind Brandon Sheppard in his heat race locking him into the 5th-starting position for the opening night feature. 1After having Friday night off, the World of Outlaws returned to action at Port Royal Speedway (Port Royal, Pennsylvania) on Saturday night for the $10,000 top prize. Holding his spot in his heat, Wells recorded a 3rd place finish earning the 10th-starting position for the feature. Dropping one spot in 40-lapper, Eric slipped back to an 11th place outing.

1On Sunday Eric was one of 25 World of Outlaws entries on hand at Eriez Speedway (Erie, Pennsylvania) for the 50-lap main event. Registering a 3rd place finish in his heat race, Wells rolled off 7th for the $10,000-to-win A-Main. 1August 5th, 2017 - Tuesday night found Eric Wells at Oshkosh Speedzone Raceway (Oshkosh, Wisconsin) returning with the World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series. Following the third fastest time in his qualifying group, Wells landed a runner-up finish behind Don O’Neal in his heat race positioning him 4th on the starting grid for the feature. Hanging on to a Top 10 finish, Eric slipped back to an 8th place outing in the 50-lap affair.

The following night brought Wells to Shawano Speedway (Shawano, Wisconsin) for the eighth annual Sun Drop Shootout. After breaking a right-rear brake caliper mount in his qualifying session, Eric scratched from both his heat and B-Main to prepare for the feature. Using a provisional into the $10,000-to-win A-Main, Wells improved nine positions to place 14th.

1Following a rain-out on Thursday night, Eric returned to Cedar Lake Speedway (New Richmond, Wisconsin) on Friday evening for the $6,000-to-win preliminary feature. After a broken driveshaft prevented him from recording a lap in time trials, Wells posted a 7th place finish in his heat race transferring him into the B-Main. Coming one spot shy of a transfer position with a 4th place finish, Eric was granted a provisional into the feature. 1Later that evening, Eric started the night off with a heat race win locking him into the Pole Dash on Saturday night. Starting in 3rd, Wells slipped back to an 8th place finish positioning him 8th on the starting grid for the feature. With $50,000 on the line, Eric Wells dropped back to a 20th place outing in the 100-lap affair.
