1July 29th, 2017 - On Wednesday night Eric Wells picked back up with the World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series for the $8,000 top prize at Fayette County Speedway (Brownstown, Illinois). Improving one spot in his heat race, Wells registered a 7th place finish transferring him into the B-Main. Needing to place in the Top 4 to make the show, Eric edged his way with a 4th place finish. Rolling off 22nd, Eric jumped up six positions in the 40-lapper recording a 16th place outing.

After having a scheduled off day on Thursday, Wells invaded Fairbury American Legion Speedway (Fairbury, Illinois) on Friday for the 28th edition of the Prairie Dirt Classic. Drawing a stout field of 65 World of Outlaws competitors for four preliminary features, Wells timed in 21st fastest in his group locking him into the 11th-starting position for the A-Main. With $2,500 on the line, Eric jumped up one spot in the 25-lap affair to place 10th.

Rolling off 7th in his B-Main on Saturday, Eric passed four cars in the 15-lap consolation event but fell short of a transfer spot into the $30,000-to-win finale. Using a provisional into the show, Eric gained four positions in the 100-lapper logging a 20th place finish.

1July 14th, 2017 - Back in the Land of 10,000 Lakes, Eric Wells visited Ogilvie Raceway (Ogilvie, Minnesota) on Wednesday night for the World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series sanctioned program. Following the eighth fastest time overall in qualifying, Eric recorded a 5th place finish in his heat race locking him into the 14th-starting position for the $8,000-to-win A-Main. Breaking into the Top 10, Wells improved five spots registering a 9th place finish.

On Thursday night with 33 Super Late Models registered in for battle at Hibbing Raceway (Hibbing, Minnesota), Wells timed in third fastest in his group before registering a runner-up finish behind Chub Frank in his heat. Rolling off 2nd for the feature, Eric suffered mechanical issues with only 5-to-go while running in 6th dropping him back to a 17th place outing.

1Wrapping up the World of Outlaws sanctioned weekend in the state of Minnesota, Wells stopped at River Cities Speedway (Grand Forks, North Dakota) on Friday night for the Acme Tools 50. Gaining four positions in his heat race, Wells scored a runner-up finish behind Chub Frank positioning him 3rd on the starting grid for the $10,000-to-win A-Main. 1July 8th, 2017 - Eric Wells made the trek to Deer Creek Speedway (Spring Valley, Minnesota) on Saturday night for the World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series sanctioned program. With 36 Super Late Models on hand for the Bigelow Homes Gopher 50, Wells recorded a 6th place finish in his heat race sending him into the B-Main. Needing a 3rd place finish or better to make the show, Eric landed a 2nd place spot behind Nick Anvelink locking him into the 20th-starting position for the feature. 1July 1st, 2017 - Following the World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series to the Land of Lincoln, Eric Wells was one of 26 Super Late Models signed in at the Dirt Oval Route 66 Raceway (Joliet, Illinois) on Wednesday night for the FVP Outlaw Clay Classic. Holding his spot in his heat race, Eric registered a 5th place finish locking him into the 14th-starting position for the $10,000-to-win A-Main. As the Late Model feature began to take the track, severe weather rolled in forcing officials to postpone the feature to October 13th.

1Returning to action on Saturday after weather cancelled the World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series event at Terra Haute Action Track (Terra Haute, Indiana) on Friday, Eric Wells stopped at Federated Raceway at I-55 (Pevely, Missouri) for the event sanctioned by both the World of Outlaws and the UMP DIRTcar Summer Nationals Hell Tour. Following the fifth fastest time in his qualifying group, Eric landed a 3rd place finish in his heat race positioning him 9th on the starting grid for the feature. With $10,000 on the line, Wells advanced through the field seven positions reeling in a runner-up finish behind Brandon Sheppard with Rick Eckert, Shane Clanton, and Chub Frank completing the Top 5 finishers.
