November 28th, 2017 - The 2017 season saw Eric Wells compete in a total of 52 events where he collected 25 Top-10 outings and 10 Top-5 finishes. With the weather determining the outcome of 11 of his scheduled dates, Wells finished seventh in the World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series point standings.

1November 4th, 2017 - Eric Wells traveled to the Dirt Track at Charlotte (Concord, North Carolina) on Thursday night for the 11th annual Textron Off Road World Finals. With 75 World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series entries on hand for two sessions of qualifying, Wells recorded the 13th and 15th fastest times in his group.

Earning the 5th-starting position for his heat on Friday, Wells held his spot for all 10-laps to place 5th. Transferring into the B-Main for another shot at the feature, Eric posted an 8th place finish forcing him to rely on a provisional into the show. Starting in 29th, Eric advanced through the field 11 positions to place 18th.

Wrapping up the World of Outlaws season on Saturday, Wells fell one spot short of a transfer position in his heat with a 4th place outing. Needing to place 2nd or better in his B-Main to make the finale, Eric posted a 3rd place finish. Using a provisional into the $12,000-to-win A-Main, Eric Wells improved four positions in the 50-lap affair logging a 22nd place outing.

1October 21st, 2017 - Competing in the 37th annual Rhino Ag Dirt Track World Championship, Eric Wells traveled to Portsmouth Raceway Park (Portsmouth, Ohio) on Friday night for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) sanctioned weekend. In a field of 72 Super Late Models, Wells scored a 4th place finish in his first heat race before slipping back to a 7th place outing in his second round after making contact with another car. Pulling out his secondary car for his B-Main on Saturday, Eric improved six spots landing a runner-up finish behind Devin Gilpin. Earning the 22nd-starting position for the $100,000-to-win A-Main, Eric Wells gained six spots in the 100-lap affair registering a 16th place finish.

1October 13th, 2017 - Friday night brought Eric Wells to the Dirt Oval at Route 66 Raceway (Joliet, Illinois) for the World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series sanctioned weekend. Drawing 31 Super Late Models for the two-day Chi-Town Showdown, Eric slipped back to a 11th place finish in his heat race sending him into the $10,000-to-win A-Main with the 26th-starting position. Wheeling his way into the Top 10, Wells advanced through the field 16 spots in the 50-lap affair to place 10th.

The second round of the Chi-Town Showdown on Saturday was washed out by Mother Nature.

1October 7th, 2017 - Eric Wells made the short trip to 201 Speedway (Sitka, Kentucky) on Saturday night for the Schaeffer Oil Iron-Man Series sanctioned program. With 30 Super Late Models on hand for the Paul H. Salyer Memorial, Wells earned the 10th-starting position for the $3,000-to-win A-Main via preliminary events. Breaking into the Top 5, Eric improved six spots to place 4th behind Jackie Boggs, Zack Dohm, and Chris Combs with Rod Conley coming in 5th.

1September 24th, 2017 - On Friday night Eric Wells returned with the World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series for the $10,000 top prize at Lakeside Speedway (Lakeside, Kansas). Passing one car in his heat, Wells recorded a 6th place finish earning him the 17th-starting position for the opening night feature. Gaining two positions in the 50-lapper, Eric logged a 15th place outing.

1The following night brought Wells to Salina Highbanks Speedway (Salina, Oklahoma) for the Bravado Wireless Green County 50. Improving three spots in his heat race, Eric posted a 2nd place finish behind Chris Madden positioning him 5th on the starting grid for the A-Main. Wrapping up the World of Outlaws sanctioned weekend on Sunday, Eric headed to at 81 Speedway (Park City, Kansas) for the $8,000-to-win A-Main. Following the sixth fastest time in a field of 17 cars, Wells landed a 3rd place finish in his heat transferring him into the main event with the 9th-starting position. Dropping out the Top 10, Eric Wells slipped back to a 12th place outing in the 40-lap affair.
