1June 28th, 2014 - Wells Motorsports entered the opening round of the 8th Annual Firecracker 100 at Lernerville Speedway (Sarver, Pennsylvania) on Thursday evening. The $6,000-to-win, World of Outlaws (WoO) Late Model Series program attracted fifty-five entries to the clay oval, and the night started off slow for the team. Struggles in heat race action sent Wells to a b-main, where he came up one spot short of locking into the 30 lap feature. As a results he would have to utilize a series' provisional to lock into the 25th starting spot on the grid. During the course of the main event Eric advanced nine positions to a sixteenth place finish.

Friday night's $6,000-to-win program found Wells once again battling the setup on his #18 Wells Motorsports/Rocket Super Late Model. Eric failed to reach a transfer position in heat race or b-main action, and used a series' provisional to start 26th in the feature. In the main event Wells advanced to a 21st place finish at the checkered flag.

On Saturday evening the $30,000-to-win finale for the 8th Annual Firecracker 100 was held, as it would prove to be a much better outing to Eric. Via his performances on the preliminary nights he started fourth in his heat race, and went on to finish third to lock into the eighteenth starting spot for the 100 lap finale. After Mother Nature delayed the start of the main event, when the race went green Wells mounted a charge to the front and would cross the finish line in seventh.

1June 24th, 2014 - After almost two weeks away from action Wells Motorsports traveled to Big Diamond Speedway (Pottsville, Pennsylvania) on Tuesday evening for $8,000-to-win program with the World of Outlaws (WoO) Super Late Model tour. (Tyrone Photography)

Thirty-one entries were on hand for the program, and after qualifying second fastest in time trials Eric won his heat race to earn a spot in the redraw for the 40 lap finale. In the redraw he received the pole position with Chub Frank alongside. Frank took the lead at the drop of the green flag while Wells slid back to second. Third starting Darrell Lanigan would get on lap eleven, moving Eric back to third. Wells continued to battle amongst the top five throughout the event before settling into a fifth place finish at checkered flag. He trailed race winner, Darrell Lanigan, Rick Eckert, Chub Frank, and Dan Stone across the finish line.

1June 7th, 2014 - The opening round of the 20th Annual Dirt Late Model Dream 100 was held at the famed, Eldora Speedway (Rossburg, Ohio) on Thursday evening as a talent-laden field of seventy-eight entries took to the 1/2 mile oval. With the field divided into a pair of $2,500-to-win programs Eric picked up a win in heat race action to earn the third starting spot for the 25 lap finale. Wells went on to registers a third place finish at the checkered flag behind race winner, Jimmy Owens, and Bobby Pierce.

Friday night saw Round #2 of the 20th Annual Dirt Late Model Dream 100 contested at Eldora Speedway. The field was once again split in half, and saw the winner's check increasing to $5,000. Unfortunately, contact with the backstretch wall in heat race action forced Wells to take his entry pit side and scratch the remainder of the evening.

The three-day crown jewel event came to an end on Saturday evening with the $100,000-to-win finale. Wells started deep in a heat race, and failed to reach a transfer spot via his heat race or a b-main. As a results his chances of chasing the top prize in the 100 lap finale came to end.
