1September 24th, 2016 - Competing in the Magnolia State Cotton Pickin’ 100, Eric Wells headed to Magnolia Motor Speedway (Columbus, Mississippi) on Friday for the two-day unsanctioned weekend. In a field of 62 Super Late Models, Wells locked his spot into the main event on Saturday evening with a 3rd place finish in his heat. 1September 4th, 2016 - Running in the World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Labor Day Weekend, Eric Wells visited Lernerville Speedway (Sarver, Pennsylvania) on Friday night for the two-day Working Man Weekend. Running two preliminary features, Wells timed in 8th fastest in his group earning him the 8th-starting spot for the $2,500-to-win A-Main. Moving up one spot in the 25-lapper, Eric posted a 7th place finish.

1With his spot already locked into the main event on Saturday via his qualifying feature on Friday, Wells rolled of 14th for the $20,000-to-win A-Main. Coming one spot short of a Top 5 finish, Eric gained eight positions in 75-lap A-Main registering a 6th place finish.

1Sunday night brought 42 Super Late Models to Selinsgrove Speedway (Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania) for the 18th Annual Jeff’s Auto Body and Recycling Center Late Model National Open. After posting the fastest time overall in his group of 21 cars, Wells stormed to heat race win giving him the 4th-starting spot for the main event. Breaking into a podium spot, Eric jumped up one position in the 40-lapper notching a 3rd place finish behind Billy Moyer Jr. and Rick Eckert with Jim Yoder and Coleby Frye rounding out the Top 5 finishers.
