1July 28, 2018 - Eric Wells was one of 29 Super Late Models on hand at Smoky Mountain Speedway (Maryville, Tennessee) on Friday night for the second-to-last event with the Schaeffer’s Oil Southern Nationals Series. After laying down the fourth fastest time in his qualifying group, Mother Nature made an appearance and washed out the rest of the night.

1On Saturday night for the $10,000-to-win series finale at Tazewell Speedway (Tazewell, Tennessee), Eric followed up the sixth fastest time overall in qualifying with a 2nd place finish in his heat behind Michael Chilton. 1July 17, 2018 - Tuesday night saw Eric Wells return with the Schaeffer’s Oil Southern National Series for the $3,500 top prize at 411 Motor Speedway (Seymour, Tennessee). With 31 Super Late Models on hand, Eric locked his spot into the feature with the third fastest time in his qualifying group. Rolling off 6th, Wells gained four positions in the 35-lap affair reeling in a runner-up finish behind Cory Hedgecock with Michael Chilton, Brandon Overton, and Casey Roberts completing the Top-5 finishers. 1July 14, 2018 - On Friday evening Eric Wells visited Ponderosa Speedway (Junction City, Kentucky) competing in a field of 13 Super Late Models for the regular night of racing. Following the fastest time overall in qualifying, Wells cruised to a heat race victory locking his spot into the A-Main. Jumping into the lead on the drop of the green flag, Eric held off David Webb late while navigating through lap-traffic to pick up his second win of the season over Webb, Todd Coffman, Michael Chilton, and Cameron Marlar. 1The following night Wythe Raceway (Rural Retreat, Virginia) for the Schaeffer’s Oil Southern Nationals Series opener, Wells followed up the fifth fastest time in his qualifying group with a 2nd place finish in his heat behind Dale McDowell. Earning the 5th-starting position for the $10,000-to-win A-Main, Eric Wells jumped up two spots reeling in a 3rd place finish behind Dale McDowell and Vic Hill with Ross Bailes and Casey Roberts completing the Top-5 finishers.

1July 7, 2018 - Eric Wells invaded Tazewell Speedway (Tazewell, Tennessee) on Tuesday night for the Schaeffer’s Oil Southern Nationals Bonus Series sanctioned program. Recording the fourth fastest time in a field of 19 cars, Wells earned the 4th-starting position for the A-Main. Slipping past race-leader Brian Smith on lap-19, Eric Wells distanced himself from the field in the remaining 19 circuits to capture his first win of the season and a $5,000 payday. 1Saturday night saw Wells return to action at Richmond Raceway (Richmond, Kentucky) for the Ultimate Battle of the Bluegrass Series sanctioned Butch Shay Memorial. In a field of 25 cars, Wells locked his spot into the $5,000-to-win A-Main with a heat race victory. Gaining one position in the 50-lap feature, Eric reeled in a runner-up finish behind Jared Hawkins with Jason Jameson, Duane Chamberlain, and Derek Fisher completing the Top-5.
